It has always been the responsibility of the members to ascertain the safety of the area in which they swim. LSIA has no liability in the matter. LSIA does participate in the Volunteer Lake Assessment Program (VLAP) which test the quality of Baxter Lake water. Due to the recent number of fish dying, a test of each beach for e-coil will be done on Wednesday June 13. Results will be posted on the web site as soon as they are received.
In the meantime, we recommend that you swim at your own risk.
